Florine is an extremely reactive and highly toxic gas with pale yellow colour. It is used in many industrial processes such as manufacturing of refrigerant gases, semiconductors, composition of plastics and in drugs synthesis. It is also used in the nuclear industry to enrich uranium. Florine is important for chemical industry  as an organic or inorganic synthesis agent.

Fluorine gas is invisible and has repulsive smell. Human nose can detected smell from 0.02 ppm. It is very toxic and inhalation can cause various health effects from 0.8ppm. As it is highly reactive and and corrosive it might cause burns to the skin and the eyes. Therefor monitoring work environment with florine gas detector is must if florine is used in any process.
